Born and raised in Richmond, BC, Dr. Chen completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo. She continued her education at the University of Waterloo for her Doctor of Optometry degree, where she was the recipient of the VSP/AAOF Practice Excellence Award and the Alcon Award for Excellence in Contact Lenses.
She further completed a Cornea and Contact Lens residency and went on to become Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
As well as serving as a clinical supervisor and lecturer, Dr. Chen has also lectured for the New Brunswick Association of Optometrist on the topic of orthokeratology in myopia management.
She is passionate about myopia control and fitting therapeutic contact lenses for various eye conditions such as keratoconus, ocular disfigurements, and dry eye.
When not looking at eyes, Dr. Chen enjoys hiking, baking and playing with her cats. She is fluent in English and conversational Mandarin and French.
